Senior Scenic Project Manager

As Senior Scenic Project Manager at Light Fantastic Production Services, you'll lead the delivery of exceptional scenic environments for some of the UK's most exciting live events. The Role

This isn't just project management.

You'll be a scenic expert involved from the earliest stages of a project, helping shape creative concepts into practical construction solutions before leading the project through planning, manufacture, installation and final delivery.

Working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams, you'll ensure every scenic project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the exceptionally high standards we're known for.

You'll combine technical expertise in scenic construction with strong commercial and project management skills, balancing creative ambition with practical delivery to create outstanding live experiences for our clients.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Build trusted relationships with clients, understanding project objectives and providing expert scenic guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Analyse, challenge and refine client briefs, developing practical scenic construction solutions in collaboration with design, production and technical teams.

  • Produce accurate quotations, budgets, construction drawings, material specifications and project documentation to deliver commercially effective solutions.

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, procurement, logistics and installation programmes from concept through to completion.

  • Lead, motivate and coordinate scenic workshop teams, contractors and on-site crews, ensuring seamless delivery across multiple live events.

  • Adapt confidently to changing project requirements and on-site challenges, keeping programmes, budgets and quality standards on track.

  • Champion the highest standards of health and safety, craftsmanship and project delivery, while sharing your expertise to support the development of the wider scenic team.

What We're Looking For

You'll bring deep expertise in scenic construction, with the ability to produce technical construction drawings and develop practical, buildable designs. You'll also have a strong understanding of scenic materials, construction methods and installation techniques, enabling you to deliver high-quality scenic solutions from concept through to completion.  

You'll also have:

  • Minimum of 6 years of scenic construction design experience in the live event industry (or similar field)

  • Strong system design and implementation knowledge

  • Solid understanding of materials, finishes and build methods. 

  • Strong technical drawing capability using AutoCAD (or other similar design tool). 

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Passionate problem solver who uses logic and creativity to get the job done.

  • Calm under pressure with a positive, solutions focused approach to problem solving. Willingness to undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested

  • Flexibility on location and working hours due to the demands of the role and industry we work in. 

  • Experience coaching and developing others; previous line management experience is advantageous but not essential. 

  • A full UK driving license is highly preferable.

Key Role Details:

Reports To: Head of Projects

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some flexibility required due to our industry.

Location: Hybrid, 3 days at our Borehamwood office with 2 days working remotely.

Salary: £55-65k depending on experience

Holiday: 30 Days including Bank Holidays

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. To be considered, you must already have the legal right to work in the UK.
